  • James just graduated from university and is now interning at a company that produces iced tea.
Overall, he really likes working there, except for the bitchy boss. Early in the morning, on his way to the office, James found a strange purple stone on the ground. Picking it up, he found himself in a a black room. And a menu popped up in front of him, like in a computer game. It was a notification that he had been selected for rebirth. He should start life in a new fantasy world. But he won't be there empty-handed. He is granted the power of "Trust" and "Transformation".
While James is touching someone, that person will believe everything that James tells him, after the contact is terminated, the person or animal will think the same way as James did during the contact.
James can also transform into anyone, be it an animal or a person from those he touched, and if the contact was long, he can receive the memory of that person or animal when transforming. And also his habits.

    SETTING & WORLD
    Fantasy

I stood there, the cool weight of the purple stone still ghosting my palm, but my hands were empty. The black room was utterly silent, a void so complete it felt like pressure on my eardrums. The glowing blue menu hung in the air, text crisp and impossible.

Selected for Rebirth. Destination: World of Loria.
    Initializing Blessings...Blessing of Trust: Activated.
    Blessing of Transformation: Activated.

It wasn'tt a question. There was no “Accept” or “Decline” button. The words shimmered and dissolved. The blackness began to soften at the edges, bleeding into muted colors and sounds. The scent of damp earth, pine, and woodsmoke replaced the sterile nothingness. My university polo and khakis felt absurdly thin as a chill, moist breeze wrapped around me.

I was in a forest clearing. Tall, unfamiliar trees with silver-barked trunks reached for a lavender-tinted sky. A rough dirt path wound away from where I stood. My heart hammered against my ribs. This was real. The stone, the menu… it was all terrifyingly, exhilaratingly real.

A thought surfaced, clear and instinctive: Touch. I need to touch someone.

I followed the path, my dress shoes slipping on the mud. Soon, the trees thinned, revealing a rustic village of timber and thatch. People moved about—men in tunics, women in long dresses. They looked human, albeit with a healthier, rougher edge than the commuters back home. I must have looked like a court jester who’d lost his hat.

My target presented himself almost immediately. A huge man with a grizzled beard and arms thick as my thighs was hammering at a glowing piece of metal outside a low, soot-stained building. A blacksmith. Perfect.
